Day NumberDescription
Day 1Arrival to Cairo.You will arrive to Cairo and check into your hotel, after which you will have a whole day free for any activities that you wish to do in this amazing city. We do recommend you to go around, enjoy shisha and the rich and interesting traditional cuisine. On the first day’s evening you will meet your Tour Director and fellow travelers at a welcome dinner. (D)
Day 2Cairo. In the morning you will enjoy a tour to the Giza Plateau where the famour pyramids are located. You will see the three pyramids: Kings Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos, and also see the Valley Temple with the Sphinx. In the afternoon, visit the National Egyptian Museum that is located close to Tahrir square. Your Tour Director will provide you with all the historic information while you are walking around the museum halls. Here you will get a chance to admire the treasure of the “Boy King,” Tutankhamun. On the second day’s evening you may join the optional evening Nile dinner cruise which also includes belly dancing and a folklore show. (B)
Day 3Cairo – Alexandria. During this day you will be exploring Coptic Cairo whish is the oldest part of the city and had originally been a Roman fortress town called “Babylon.” You can still see some of the Roman walls today! After that you will get a chance to visit the Citadel of Saladin with its beautiful mosque. You will drive north through the Nile Delta area and enjoy your lunch on the way while admiring some more of the sights that the Egyptian countryside has to offer. (B,L,D)
Day 4Alexandria. Alexandria is truly the “Pearl of the Mediterranean” and the very essence of everything Egyptian. This city is highly cultured, elegant, refined, cosmopolitan, and of course magnetically beautiful. Here you will explore the catacombs, see the Pompey’s Pillar and the new Alexandria library, and stop by the Fort of Qait. Also you will walk around the gardens of the famous royal Montaza Palace – and have an afternoon and evening free for whatever you may want to do. (B)
Day 5Alexandria. This day will also be rich in experience and emotions: it includes an excursion to El Alamein (that has been made famous by the decisive victory of the Allies during WWII), where you will visit the military museum and cemetery and enjoy the included lunch before heading back to Alexandria. Day 6Alexandria – Wadi El Natrun – Cairo. Today, you will experience completely different scenery as you travel back to Cairo on the desert road. You will also have a stop in Wadi el Natrun that is situated in a valley dotted with oases and visit one of the Coptic monasteries of this area. After you arrive in Cairo you will still have time for some shopping at the Khan-el-Khalili bazaar. Oh, and remember to bargain! (B,D)
Day 7Cairo. Visit the ancient Memphis Open-Air Museum, followed by the Sakkara’s “stairway to the sky,” the oldest of all pyramids. Enjoy your leisure time after these excursions! (B)
Day 8Cairo. Your vacation will end with a breakfast this morning. (B)
