On the National Historic Registry, Casa Benavides B&B offers elegant lodgings in a prime Taos location.  Rooms are individually decorated, and may feature handmade or antique furnishings, baths with Mexican tiles, or artistic treasures.  All have down comforters, luxury linens, VCR's and free videos.  There's a scrumptious breakfast, and fresh-baked goodies with afternoon tea.

Santa Fe (2 nights)
Our home in Santa Fe during our walking holidays, is the lovely Inn on the Alameda.  This deluxe hotel enjoys an enviable location just a couple of blocks from the Plaza.  The traditional southwest design uses adobe, thick vigas and wicker furniture.  There's an exercise room, 2 outdoor Jacuzzis, and a complimentary wine & cheese reception is served each evening.
