Weather
Weather in Greece is temperate.  Summers have endless days of sunshine and little rain.  The rainy season begins in mid-October.  Athens can get hot in summer, but the islands are about 10 degrees cooler.  In July, average temp are upper 80s in Athens, and upper 70s in the islands.

An advantage to June over Sept is that the days are longer, so you have more daylight time to explore your ports of call.  An advantage to Sept over June is that the water is warmer for swimming.
