Stuff you gotta know...
What's included, what's not
Here's the standard list of what's included in the trip price, and what's
not included. Since certain trips may involve unique situations, the
final list for each trip is in your detailed itinerary.
Included in the trip price
* Quality accommodations during the trip (double occupancy), as
specified in the trip itinerary
* Almost all meals. Sometimes you’re free to have a lunch or
dinner on your own. This is specified in the trip itinerary.
* Experienced, knowledgeable trip leaders
* Additional experts with specialized knowledge, as listed in
the trip itinerary
* Ground transportation throughout the trip, as described in the itinerary
* Sightseeing as described in the trip itinerary
* Park, museum and other entry fees
* Private guided tours, or special activities and events, as
indicated in the trip itinerary
* Equipment, instruction, guides and fees for excursions and activities, as noted in itinerary
* Baggage handling and porterage
* All taxes on included hotels, meals and transportation
* Adventure Essentials packet with comprehensive pre-trip information
Not included in price
* Airfare or other
transportation to the trip starting point, and from the trip ending point
* Meals not specified in the itinerary
* Alcoholic beverages
(* normally not included, though some trips may
include wine or drinks - this will be
noted in the detailed itinerary for the trip)
* Personal expenses such as laundry or telephone calls
* Passport or visa fees
* End of tour gratuities for trip leaders
* Insurance of any kind
Extra - Single supplements
Standard accommodations are double occupancy. A woman
traveling alone will be paired with another woman to share a room.
If you would prefer a room to
yourself, this can be arranged (subject to availability), on payment
of a supplemental fee. A single room with private bath will be assigned to you.
Single rooms may be smaller than double rooms. The sooner you make
your reservation, the more likely that your request can be
fulfilled. The cost of a single supplement can be
found with each trip's pricing information. (See
list of women's trips)
There is NO single supplement unless you want to guarantee a private room
for yourself. If you’re willing to share a room, there is never a
single supplement - even if we don't have a roommate for you!
Extra - trip insurance
No insurance coverage is included in the trip price. We strongly
advise purchasing trip insurance to cover trip
cancellation or interruption (for medical reasons), lost luggage, accidental
death, medical expenses, emergency medical evacuation, or unavoidable flight
delays. This small cost will give you greater peace of mind, and protect
you in case such situations arise.
For international trips, check whether your health care plan covers you out
of the country. Many plans don't. In such cases, we highly
recommend the purchase of supplemental health coverage for your trip.
Information on trip cancellation and medical insurance will be included in your
Adventure Essentials packet. We highly recommend that you read the
brochure, and purchase this insurance.
