Adventure Essentials

Adventure Essentials packet
After we receive your deposit, we'll send your Adventure Essentials packet, with all the information you need to get ready for your trip.  In your packet, you'll find:

*  Confirmation letter for your reservation
*  Detailed daily itinerary for the trip
*  Rendezvous details, and transportation options to the trip starting point
*  Departure options
*  Details on accommodations and meals during the trip
*  Typical weather for the area
*  Packing list, with suggested attire and any baggage restrictions
*  Details on equipment you can bring or rent
*  Local information, such as currency, cuisine, language and customs
*  Passport and visa requirements
*  Health information and inoculation requirements
*  Frequently asked questions
*  Recommended reading list
*  Map of the area, and overview of the geography
*  Brief history of the area
*  Suggested accommodations if you choose to arrive early or extend your trip
*  Contact information in case you have any questions or difficulties

What we need from you
This packet also includes certain forms you'll need to fill out and send back to us:

*  Participant Information form
*  Release of Liability form
*  Trip protection insurance application

The Participant Information and Release of Liability forms must be filled out and returned to us at least 30 days prior to the trip (or at time of reservation, for trips booked less than 30 days before departure).  If these forms are not received, you will not be allowed to participate in the trip.

Participants are responsible for arranging their own transportation to the trip start point, and from the trip end.  Adventurous Wench does not recommend the purchase of non-refundable airplane tickets.

Adventure Tips
As an extra service to enhance your wait for the trip, and to help you prepare, we'll send you weekly Adventure Tips from the time you reserve your trip until the departure date.  These are short, weekly e-mails with useful tidbits about your trip, such as:

*  Interesting information about your destination
*  The latest regional weather, and what to expect
*  Packing suggestions
*  News articles from the region
*  Recommended reading

Special food needs
If you have special food needs, please let us know.  This information is part of the Participant Information form you'll need to fill out.  With advance notice, we can almost always accommodate your requests.

Early arrival / trip extensions
Many people like to arrive in the start city the night before the trip begins.  This can ease travel arrangements, and ensure you're fresh at the start of the trip. 

Some people also like to extend their stay after the end of the trip.  By this time, you've seen a lot of the area, and may have noted additional sights you'd like to enjoy.  You might find that some of your new friends from the trip decided to stick around, too!

While Adventurous Wench does not handle travel arrangements for early arrivals or trip extensions, we will provide information on recommended accommodations, in your Adventure Essentials packet.
