Women's Travel Contest

What's your story?

* Why do you like traveling with women?
* What have you gained from women's travel?
* What's your most memorable experience on a women's trip?

Just send us your answer to one of these questions. We're looking for the most interesting answers -- they could be serious, funny or touching, but they need to be sincere and express a truth about women's travel. See "Hints" below.

How to enter contest
You can enter either category, or even both!

  * All contest entries must be received by midnight MST, June 30, 2009.
  * No purchase is necessary.
  * You may submit as many entries as you want, in any format(s) you want.
  * All contest entries must include your full name, and a valid e-mail address where we can contact you if you win.

What you could win
Best written entry = $250 gift certificate
Best video entry = $250 gift certificate
1st runner up (regardless of format) =
    $50 gift certificate
2nd & 3rd runners up (regardless of format) =
    An Adventurous Wench t-shirt of your choice

Gift certificates can be applied to the unpaid cost of any future Adventurous Wench trip that departs within 5 years of the contest end date. Certificates have no cash value, and cannot be exchanged for cash, or applied to a trip and then refunded for cash. Certificates may be transferred freely to another person, but cannot be bought or sold on the New York Stock Exchange. Value could also be split between two people or two trips, provided the above conditions are met.

Judging and Hints
Entries in the Women's Travel Contest will be reviewed by representatives of Adventurous Wench to select the winners. Here are a few hints that are sure to help your chances of winning:

All contest entries:
Use a specific example to illustrate your point.
(Instead of saying "Tried something new", you could tell us about doing a canopy zipline for the first time.)

Make it personal -- what did you do? How did you feel? (What were you thinking as you climbed up to that zipline?)

Use vivid descriptions -- help us picture ourselves in the scene. (The more alive you make it, the better.)

Make us laugh. (Not all winners will be funny, but putting the judges in a good mood can't hurt!)

Written entries:
A simple text e-mail is sufficient. If you have a photo that goes with the story, that's even better, but a good entry with no photo will beat a lesser entry with a photo. Photos should be attached to the original submission e-mail.

Video entries:
We're not looking for professional video production -- something shot from your laptop camera or any standard videocam is fine, as long as we can see and hear it OK.

It's likely that there will be fewer video entries than written entries, so this category will probably have better odds of winning.

Miscellaneous
Employees of Adventurous Wench are not eligible to win prizes. Fortunately that doesn't rule out too many people, so chances are you're still in the running!

By entering, you consent to the use of your entry and your name, and confirm that you own full rights to all of the material you are submitting. All entries become the property of Adventurous Wench. Decisions of the judges are final. Sending cookies will neither increase nor decrease your chances of winning.
