I am not sure if Belize is still filled with mystery as you experienced. At present Belize is filled with lots of people. A few years ago we were signed up to go cave tubing through a cruise we were on. Unfortunately, the ship arrived too late to Belize to leave us time for the excursion. We still had a great time as we ended up taking a tour of the city and had a chance to interact with some of the locals. The people of Belize are very friendly and we look forward to going back someday.
